This is the dining room as we found it.  The woodwork had been painted at least 8 to 10 times over the years.

There were large pieces of the plaster ceiling moldings missing.

We took a piece of the original plaster ceiling moldings and made an exact copy out of a composite material.

The replicate moldings were then cut, fitted, and permanently mounted in place.

The woodwork was all removed and stripped bare.  The wainscoting was replaced with an exact match

The woodwork was all stained and finished in a dark English oak stain

The fireplace had been covered over many decades earlier.  It was time to see what was behind here.

The brick is solid and the liner is clean.

The surface was prepped for tile.

We purchased an original oak mantle from an antique salvage yard in Tennessee.  It was a perfect fir for what we needed.

This picture shows the new frame for mounting the antique mantle.  We also added a white marble hearthstone below.

We used a set of British Fireplace tiles for an ornate look.
